I read about a FBI agent who was holding a world-wide virus that was lethal to anyone who came in contact with it. He was holding it in his cooler and was on a flight from asia to atlanta disease control center. However, on his journey, the plane was hit with a homemade bomb and it started to crash. Instead of holding on to cooler and its contents the man let it loose in the plane aisle in hopes that it would incinerate in the explosion. This book seems very exciting!!!
Today in reading work shop I read about the OJ trial. I really never got to read anything about it but this book went indepth. The trial was very intresting and confusing at the same time. I dont understand how the trial went on for 276 days and before the jury went on break they had there verdict of not guilty. Just reading 2 pages im thinking something is fishy. I will have to read on to see what went on after that verdict date. So far the book is really good if you are into crime books.
I was reading the book Planet Earth. It is from the tv series on the Discovery channel. I love this book because it has alot of really intersting and great pictures. It explains alot about different parts of the world and the animals that live there. There is alot more information in the book then in the television series. Today i read The rainforest section. The introduction was really neat! It explained all the different levels of the rain forest. The book explained how the climate doesnt change very much. This is why it is more diverse than any other place as far as land organisims. I loved this section on the rain forest. Although i have much more to read it was an eciting start. Who else loves the rain forest?
I read In Pharao's Army by Tobias Wolff. It starts out with Sergeant Benet riding in a truck being blocked by peasants. He is a very big man! So far it has lots of action. There running over the peasants bikes and almost killing them. This guy is crazy. The authur (main character) had a gold pocket watch that he kept with him at all times but someone stole it. I have read to where they are driving on a road and right in front of them a truck hits a mine and explodes. so so far this is a pretty good book that i might think about reading more of. Maybe.....
I read the book Exit Here by Jason Myers. I love it, today I read about how one of the characters, Kyle, was driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. Kyle drove into a house killing two children inside the house and his girlfriend. After the accident he fled the crime scene and wasn’t found for a day or two. Following the accident we hear how the main character, Travis, feels about Kyle and what he did. Kyle was one of his very good childhood friends but also had been a drug dealer and it wasn’t all that surprising when he heard about the incident.
Today during Mrs.Stallman's enlighting reading work shop i found my book on her shelf. The book i found was "catch 22". I haven't read much of it yet but just from reading the book's back it sounds like one that i am going to take great liking to. I read the first ten or so pages which take place in a military hospital when men are trying to fake sickness to get out of fighting. i hope to read more of the book in the near future.
Today i read a book called Blood Sucking Feinds. It is about a girl, who is walking home and is jumped and turned into a vampire. She then meets a young man, who she then uses to do all of her errands during the day. At the end of the book, she mees the one who turned he into the vampire, and they decide to kill him, because he was going to kill her and her boyfriend. I love how once you start reading it, you cant stop!
Today in class i read a book call The Things They Carried. It seems to be a war book because in the beginning of it a soldier is describing the things that everyone carries with them during the war. He tells how he carries letters from a girl named Martha whom he is in love with. He also carries photos of her and tells about a date that they went on. He tells that he dreams of her loving him as much as he loves her. This book seems very interesting and i want to read more!
Today in reading workshop, I read Cell (a novel) by Stephen King. I've read a few of Stephen King's books and I am a big fan of movies that had been based off of his books. My favorite was Salem's Lot, and Christine. But anyways Cell seemed to be yet another creepy thriller by King. If I caught on right...to the few excerpts that I read. Its about a signal that is broadcasted to cell phones around the world. This signal seems to turn anyone who has a cell phone into a zombie. I kinda find it funny in a way cause its almost like a play on the fact that people kinda are like zombies with their phones today. But who knows what his real intentions were.
Uh, today I spent fifteen minutes and academy re-reading The Life Of Pi by Yann Martel, a personal favorite of mine. Its a book that mixes survival literature and Religious Allegory into a single, cohesive work of art. its very well written, and the first time IO read it, I was simply blown away. I hope to take more from it the second time around.
I am reading a book called "The Other Bolyen Girl." It's aout Henry the 8th, Anne Bolyen, and Mary Bolyen. It's a very well written book that captures you. I don't know wether the book or the movie is more acuret. The two are not really that similar so far.

During the reading workshop today I began reading the book Where the Red Fern Grows again. I read this book in 7th grade with Mrs. Cizmar and from what I remember it was a good book.. But then again middle school is just a blur for me.
Anyways... so far the dude saved a dog from from a being killed by a pack of wild dogs then he took the hound home and let it spend the night at his house. He fed it, bathed it and then once night came the next day, he let it out to find its way home.
Today in reading workshop I read tha book The Contender. i have not read much, but in the begining this group of African Americans who are slaves. One of the young men works for a jewish family in thier store. He mistakenly tells the others that the family is away from the store and had left all thier cash in the register. So they decide to go and steal the money. However they do not know that their is a silent alarm and the cops come. This seems like a very exciting book and i cant wait to finish it!

Today i was reading And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. It starts with several individuals all headed to the same place for different reasons, going into details about each persons life up to this point. They are greeted by a boat man upon their arrivals and taken to a private island. So far it promises to be a great read.
Today I started re-reading Salem Falls. It is about a guy is is falsely accused of a crime and does some time in jail. When he gets out, he tries to create a new life. But this scheming girl tries to tear his life apart. It really is a good book and a joy to read.

Veronica, have you seen the movie? I have been wanting to watch it...but have been too busy. Let me know if it is any good.
Steve, did you say you might actually read more? Yea! I am so happy...maybe?
Albert, if you are reading it a second time, I should at least read it for the first time. I PROMISE I will read it by the end of the semester! And I bet you WILL get more out of it during a second read. Each time you read a novel, you experience it differently based on where you are in your life and what you bring to it. Have fun!
Today during class, i was reading a book called The Cheater. It's actually kind of a scary book. It starts out with this girl named Carter, who needed to get a good grade on her math exaime, so she can get into Princton. Her dad was very hard on her about her grades. She then took the easy way out, and had someone else take the test for her. If this boy, Adam, took the test for her, and she also promised him she'd go on one date with her. Now, the one date turned into one after another because, he keeps like "black-mailing" her. He's just a creeper. It's really good and short. I can't wait to finish!:)
oh...and it's my birthday!!
Gina, no one cares :)
just kidding!
Today I started reading the book "A Million Little Pieces" I was interested in reading it because of all the news I've heard about it. The author made up parts of it and a lot of people were really mad at him because it was suppose to be a true memoir. Oprah added the book to her favorite books in her book club and was mad when she found out he lied to so many people. I want to read it but knowing it's not all true might make me less interested but I don't know. I guess I'll find out...
During the fifteen minutes of reading, I read a few short poems (only because I forgot to bring in a book of my own). I really enjoy reading poems because you can relate to some of them. They put emotions into writing, and they actually have a meaning to them. I read a couple poems about love, life and lose. They all expressed those feelings and they all had a meaning.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINA!!!! =] are you 18?
I posted up in Mrs. Tara Stallman's english and read the book No Country for old men. I like the book almost more than the movie there is more detail in the book. Its about a bum western that comes across a drug deal gone wrong and steals the money. He is then tracked down by a hitman. Alls i have to say is what a book. Maybe you could agree someday. I wouldn't know i do not make the rules.
Andrew
I think that book sounds great. I might even read it. I like books that have lots action and a have potential of having sombody get beat up. Marco the oj trial sounds good to but it sounds like the same thing i read about in a magasine on the shelf in stallmans room. Well ill try to read those.
Marco, OJ's trial lasted for 276 days? What was going on? How did they find him innocent? What did the jury have to think about and when was the verdict read?
Ryan, I have always wanted to go to the rainforest! Maybe this book will paint for my imagination a beautiful picture.
Ryan i was reading your blog and it seemed very interesting to me. Planet Earth sounds like a good book. You said that its from the series on Discovery channel and i watch that channel alot. I like science so it seems this book would help in bio class since in taking that class nest semester also it would help out by me learning the things about the earth and the animals on it. I think i might start looking at that book. Andrew the book about the FBI agent sounds intense and seems it will keep you on your seat. It sounds like a book i would read for sure.
Holy Batman Sara!! tht sounds like a good book. im actually being seriuos unlike half the people who are just blogging because they have to. I love war stories or action novels. Was that the end or begining of the book? Sara you should probably keep reading that book. Matt That is a very sad but good movie! I cried like a baby. I would love to read the book and compare it to the movie. Matt you really need to keep reading that book because the end is fantstic. Well the end in the movie was fantastic. Hey matt have you ever read the book Planet Earth? Thats what i read. It is a fantstic book! if you wwant to know more about it read my first post!! Bill dont lie you cant read!!!
The book that andrew read sounds really interesting. What is the book called, I would like to read it. I would also like to read the book Blood Sucking Friends that Becca is reading. She told me about it and I love books about vampires.
Andrew I like the sound of that book. It also seems like it would make a great movie. Very interesting, does it have a name? I actually might consider it.
Can't read huh Ryan...well I just read your first post. And Planet Earth...wow! I couldn't have expected anything but a Tree hugging book from you. Hey cutlip.ryan, feel free to step off your elitist, non-polluting, liberal cloud whenever you please. But I seriously doubt you ever will...so I think I will just leave all of my cars and gas appliances running constantly, so that your cloud is depleted and you fall to your death. Have you ever hugged a tree? Oh I bet you have. As a matter of fact I bet you've went all the way with a tree. Ryan I love you. How is your mom doing?
Holy heart failure Ryan!! You didnt read Where The Red Fern Grows in 7th grade?! Jeez! Werent we required to read it? And when did they make a movie? Planet Earth sounds like a really good book... Because it sounds mostly like a picture book. Ethan, The Contender sounds like a good book so far. Is that the book where he becomes a black boxer?
I've also read the book Where the Red Fern Grows too Matt. I also read it in 7th grade when it was required I really don't remember much about it. Veronica I heard from my friend that The Other Boleyn Girl was really good and would be interested in reading it. Would you recommend it? I would really be interested in reading your book Jenica it sounds good! What crime was he accused of?
Todd, the book you are reading spunds interesting. I like those types of stories. You know, the ones that have several different plots going o at the same time. I really like it when they all come together at the end. Also, Tara, yes I have seen and now own the movie, "The other Boylen Girl," and it is one of my favorites.
Andrew, the book you're reading sounds very interesting. It sounds like something many people whould want to read. What's the name of it? Sara, The Things They Carried is an awesome book. The more you read the more into it you get. I remember when my brother had to read it and told me about it. I thought it was going to be just another war book, but I was wrong. Continue reading it, you'll love it. Bill, you basically picked up on what Cell is about. It's scary to think if someone could really do that to the phones what the world would turn into. Very good point about people being like zombies with their phones now-a-days, never really thought about it like that.
Andrew that does sound like a good book! It sounds action packed! What is it called Because I think that I might read it when I finish my other book? I am very curious what will happen to the disease! Albert I remeber when you told me about that book last year or whenever it was in enrichment. It sounds good and I would not mind reading it.
-Ethan Moore
Albert I am happy you are enjoying the book The Life of P.I. I find this book to be quite good. I don't want to ruin the ending but it quite exciting. Andrew's book sounds really good as well. I was wondering if you could give me the name of the book about the FBI agent it sounds really good. Marco I hope by the time you finish the book you can explain the OJ trial to me.I never really understood it.
Dan...I will sum up the OJ trial for you. There is no need for Marco to strain himself with that read. See OJ Simpson pretty much murdered Nicole Brown one night(although he wasnt proven guilty of course)...he had a history of violence toward her. OJ was spotted in an all black sweat suit outside the simpson compound around the time CSI said the body was dead. They found a set of gloves that OJ had wore for years before...one found at his house and one on a road near his house. Blood stains on his shoes matched exactly to ones left in Simoson's Bronco. And there is much more evidence against him. OJ ran from the police when they tried to arrest him a few days after the murder in his bronco. They arrested him and he went thru court. The Jury ended up finding OJ as not guilty, but they didnt "prove" him guilty which are two different things. He got off scotch free. I mean c'mon he got off because he played football. He unofficially released his book "If I Did It" recently in which he pretty much confessed but not really. And because there is no double jeopardy he cant be tried for the same crime twice.
Steve-
sound like a cool book considering the running over of people and items of that nature. Really give hope for the future of the human race from running people over in trucks to stealing and I assume it will not end there. Awesome!!!
Can I just say bill shut your mouth? Ryan, the fact that you chose that book is phenomenal and its gets me going. Planet Earth has a fancy of great fact about nature and what we can do to preserve it. I think Ryan is taking a step towards the future and making a statement with his choice. Keep it liberal Ryan you're an animal.
Todd, I have heard of that book, but have not gotten a chance to read it. I heard that Agatha Christie is a very interesting writer. Happy Birthday Gina! and your book sounds really interesting too.
-Jenica V.
Gina, your book seems really good! I kind of like scary books. It's interesting how the girl had a boy take a test for her. How did she do that? It's also weird how he keeps black mailing her and making her go on dates with him. That's creep! I'm really interested about what happens next! Maybe I'll start reading it soon!
Thanks Hayley! Lauren cares!:) yes lauren i am 18. Ethan i started to read that book too, but it was not that good. I did not have an intrest in boxing, so i put it down, and started a new one. I hope it gets better for you! Tell me when you finish if you liked it!
Sarr!...yeah i just finished it today! It was a short book, but a good one! I will bring to class for you! You'll never guess the ending, and what happeneds to creeper!:)
Becca, this book sounds great, and looks really interesting. The book also looks like it has a dark story line. Vampires always interest me, i would really enjoy reading this book!
Bill, the book Cell sounds pretty good. Most all of Stephan Kings novels are great. He makes them so thrilling.
Sara,
I heard that book was really good. It seems like it's really interesting. I'm disappointed that we didn't get to read it this year in class or for our summer reading! let me know if you like it after a few chapters and maybe I'll start reading it because so far I don't like my book. :(
and Corey, your book sounds really exciting and kinda scary..what's the main idea of the story?
and Gina you know I was kidding...I love you :) :)
My book, "The Other Boleyn Girl," is about a 3 or 4 right now. It si a bit confusing and hard to follow at times. Mary Boleyn was sent to the country to forget about the King Henry and at first felt that she was being deracinated from her family, friends, and the court life.
