RW Sept 17 #1
What great stuff did you read today? Tell us all about it...but tell using one vocabulary word and one of the three sentence patterns (16, 17, or 18). By the way, right now I am reading a book called Dragonfly in Amber...it is the second in a serious about a woman who falls through a crack in time and goes back to 18th Century Scotland. Her quizzical experiences fascinate me! A time traveler I would love to be! Stayed tuned...

Today in class I continued reading Plague Maker. The pages, its cover, its smell-these all get my reading buds to salivate. This book depicts a new character named Nick. He is a virtuoso in the study of bugs during a murder. Donovan, the main character, finished his session with the shrink. He is found to be afraid and angry. However, his anger blocks his fear so he denies that he is afraid. Great book so far.
I read Breaking Dawn again by Stephanie Myer. I really would rather not say what I read because I know that Katie is reading the series and she is on book three and i dont want to ruin the ending to book four for her.
Good afternoon today in the 15 minutes of Phil Collins i mean reading time i read Ironman. The main character Beauregard Brewster is a mountebank. He leaves the football team and the coach is mad. A crazy psycho the coach is. Well im actually kind of into this book so ya i geuss ill read it next week to. good by
Today i continued reading Montanna Sky. In the chapter i was on Lilly is one of Mr Mercers daughters. Lilly had problems at home with her husband. She was beaten by her husband. Lilly was affraid of going back home. She wanted to stay. While she was hiding from the crowd she met a man. He was the ranchers child as well but from another woman. He took her to look at the horses. This is where the book gets rediculous! Nora Roberts start going to excrutiating deatial about these two carachters. These explanations make me want to throw up. Ill give you an example in sentance pattern 18. Soft and pale was her face. Its rediculous. You can definatley tell that these two charachters arnt going to the barn to look at horses! At the begining of the book Nora Roberts tries to cozen you into beleiving that the book is good. But then she gets into the real romance and it makes me want to throw up. To me romance novels are the opposite of therapeutic. They are extremly painfull!! Oh heyy Professor Stallman I would like to to read the SERIOUS as well...
Today i started the book Girl at Sea. At First we meet a girl who is looking for one of her fathers students to tell him her father is dead.Distraught, upset, dazed- all words i would use to describe her. Then we meet someone else it seems to be a different time period. her name is Clio her forte definitely seems to be art.
Hmm aren't english teachers supposed to know proper grammar...Series maybe instead of serious...but idk maybe she meant that or maybe she was too busy thinking about Phil Collins and his cue ball-like head. Phil Collins looks like Mr. Clean on crack. Phil Collins looks like The Creature from the black lagoon and Sinead O'Connor's love child. But enough about Phil Collins. WHATS THE DEFINITION OF PERFECT PITCH?
-Throwing Phil Collins into a lava pit without him touching the sides.
Okay today I continued to read OF MICE AND MEN. George and Lenny have just arrived at the new ranch that they are going to be working on. Its funny whether or not big, dumb lennie can keep his mouth shut in front of the boss so he doesen't realize lennie is a dumb one, because lets just say intelligence is not Lennie's *forte...not one bit. *But a good book this will be to read again.
Phil Collins Sucks A%s But “In The Air Tonight” Sucks Awesome. Jimmy Page made a pact with the devil, down at the crossroads. Phil Collins made a pact with lame, down at the suck farm. For real Genesis was doomed the day Collins sat down at the drums. Now just to prove my and hate and discust for Phil Collins im going to go find Simba, round-house-kick him in the head...breaking his neck instantly and enjoy a nice Lion Cub dinner mmmm.
Today I read more of, "The Other Boylen Girl." It is getting pretty interesting. Mary Boylen just slept with King Henry. Although she is jelous, the Queen always has a paean playing while they eat and tries to look as if nothing was wrong. Their way of thinking and life I do not particularly like.
Today I read Raise the Titanic! I forget who wrote it though. This book isnt as bad as I thought it would be. It first describes the Titanic, then it actually begins with a crazy old guy laying in his cabin on the ship. The quizzical man was actually only 34. Old, withered, wornout-all characteristics depicting an elderly man. The author even wrote that he appeared to be in his mid-fifties with his white hair. He wakes up after the titanic collides with the iceberg so he races up to the main deck. He has been around machinery long enough to know when something is wrong before everyone else figures it out. So he sat outside on the main deck for over an hour just waiting. Once he saw a junior officer he pulled a gun out of his coat pocket and shoved it into the officers groin saying "Take me to the vault or you can forget about grandchildren." So the crazy man was led down to a vault where he whipped out a key and opened a box. Grasping whatever object he had pulled out he told the junior officer that he wants to be left here. He said "You are free to leave. You still have a chance to make it out of here." The junior officer replied "What about you?" The crazy man looked at him with empty eyes and said "I've killed eight innocent men to get this so I'm going to die with it." CAPTIVATING!!
Today I started Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. It begins with the famous Hercule Poirot leaving Syria after a particularly successful case. He takes the train back toward London and meets two people that are obviously suspicious characters. Since Poirot's forte is crime detection and observation he follows them. They change over to the Orient Express when...that is as far as I've got. The book seems very good and I hate to use Shakespeare but knowing these types of novels I would like to say "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes".
today in class i read the book See You Later. The main character, Mark, asked the girl who works at the video game store if she would go out with him. she told him she had a boy friend but they went out for ice cream anyways. one dey while visiting the girl he met another video game virtuoso. the man asked if mak would come to see the mans newest game and give him sugestions. so Mark went to the mans house; then, his bedroom where the computer was located. i am curios to see what this new game is like.

today i continued to read the book "eat pray love". It's still kind of boring and she just talks about why she decides to travel across Europe. She talks about how she isn't satisfied with her life and wants to leave her husband because she doesn't want children and to me she kind of sounds like she has a lot of rapacity. I hope this book gets more interesting. Excited to read this book, I am not. I hope it gets better...
Well I read a chick flick. It was called "First Sight". I was cozened into reading it because it had such an masculine cover. It was about Jeremy Marsh finding who he thinks is his lover. Whats funny to me, is the fact that he thinks he is some king player. Him and his pussy whipped friend Alvin sat there and talke about all the girls he has been through. What a tool. Anyways, I skipped to the end and his wife ends up giving labor and dying aftwards. It was sad, but it was un-original. In the end it's just not for me.
I 100% agree with Bill.
Today during class, i continued reading Goosebumps, its actualy getting scary now. You think these books are hardcore kids books, but really they are very interesting and easy to read. You can finish them in like two days!...anyways, terri is wondering around the grave yard, because she loves them. Her brother on the other hand hates them and wants to go home. After they walked around for a while it started getting foggy, so fogy that they couldnt see very well. Well her brother couldnt find her, and called her name and told her to stop kidding around. Pretty much his dream is about to come true...thats all i got read so far...Cant wait till next week to read it somemore!!
I read A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks. Tragedy, romance, secrets--these things are what is to expect from this book. So far I have learned that the main character, Miles, has lost his wife two years ago. He wants to get over her, but feels guilty about it. I read briefly about his son's teacher, who I think will end up being very therapeutic to his soul. I understand the loss of a loved one is very painful, but I think it is good that he is getting over it.

Today I continued the book The Things They Carried.Lieutenant Cross and his men were an enclave against the Vietnamese. Talked, smoked, injected tranquilizers-all things they did while sitting around waiting for one man to get done searching his tunnel. When the solider got out of the tunnel all the men cheered and were happy that he made it. Then the man that injected the tranquilizer was walking back from using the restroom and got shot in the back of the head.I think this book really gets the reader hooked.
Today in RW I continued reading CELL. Intense, thrlling, mind-bogelng- all keep me reading for more action. Today i read on in the chapter. I found out why the guy in the buisness suit bit the dogs ear off. The guy really wasnt a human he was a zombie. Clay the main chracter is just sitting in this parking wacthing all this unfold. Then clay watched a women get her neck bit by a teen walking on the sidewalk. Then the bell rang. So far this book keeps me on the edge of my seat! i love it!
Okay all you smarty-pants "Phil Haters" what is the big idea? Ryan, were all of your misspellings intential just to mock my one typo...or did you really think "rediculous" was spelled that way? Ha! And Billy Boy, you are really pushing the envolope with the "be appropriate" rule! Just because you don't indicate ALL the letters doesn't mean you did not "use" the word. Watch it Mister! Or I will have to give you a z*r@ on this assignment. (Did you still understand that word even though I replace some letters???) Dr. Steve, if we had 15 minutes of Phil, it would be the best 15 minutes of your life. Everyone else, great job staying ON TASK!!! See ya...oh, by the way, Tyler - giving away that crucial detail from the ending was just plain mean!
I actually read an interesting artical in a my magazine that was called "The party that changed my life".
The artical was very interesting cause it's about kids our age and going to parties and getting out of control with drugs, alcohol, and sex. In this artical a girl named Chelsey Lattrell happen to drink too much and bowdlerized private property. Sex, drugs, violence- is what gets most teen into trouble. This artical is deffinetly eye opening.

I was absent in class today because I had a field trip to go to, but I continued to read The Things They Carried. I am at the part after the death of Lavender. Cross burned Martha's letters and photographs. He promised that he would no longer be having fantasies. He didn't want to cozen his mind into thinking Martha was in love with him any longer. Cross felt guilty for Lavender's death; the others, sad. I can't wait to keep reading! I am really getting into this book.
whew mrs. stallman, you laid on the typos in this one...
Serious?
I think you meant series. Oh, wait, Bill already pointed that out, but what about "stayed tuned?"
Hahaha...Oh, the irony. This, from the teacher who LAMENTS over signs that do not have apostrophes.
Although I was not there today, I read while at home, and I finished up The Life of Pi.
The therepeutic qualities of Philosophy, the hope found in religion, and the requisites of survival- all were linked in the great novel by Yann Martel, and I continue to urge you all to read it.
Today In class I picked up the book Harry Potter . I think I may have started reading that book a long time ago but never finished it. Dumbledore just finished putting out the street lights when he tried talking to the cat on the brick wall. The cat was the Professor, she was shocked to know that he knew it was her. The Professor was using her skills to cozen outsiders. Mystery, drama, suspense - all of these keep the reader tuned into the series of Harry Potter . If you haven't ever picked up a Harry Potter book, you should really consider.
Bill, I didnt know we had right a novel! But these grammer mistakes are realy making are class look dum. Anyway, Steve, I really think your book would be interesting. I enjoy football even thought I dont play. Leo, your book looks quite interesting as well.
Exciting, unbearible, revealing- this is what the book Left behind is. It has a plethora amount of charcters. I am almost finished with this book, but there are many more in the series! You should try them sometime.
Jenica that book sounds good. I've read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks and have seen the movie. I read the book after i saw the movie so I don't think i appreciated it as much as I might have if i read it first. Have you read the notebook or seen the movie? If you have do you like this book by Nicholas Sparks better?
Matt, your book sounds really cool. I think that it would be great to read sometime. I have always been interested in the Titanic. I love those deep unsolved mysteries. I also can't believe how much this calss hate Phill Collins.
Marco-
That book sounds interesting not to mention a little spooky though I would expect no less from an icon of the creeps. Stephen King is by far the weirdest guy in existence and this is reflected in much of his works. I think he is mentally deranged but if he was a normal person i don't think his books would have the same flavor.
Wow Tyler! I feel your pain. I too have to read a romance chick book. Its crazy, but I do not like the use of language in your blogg. There are little children that read these. Next time is generous. Hey Dan I read your blogg obviously. I think that book is for me I actually would really love to read that! I think it sounds amazing. You will have talk to mea about it and lend it to me sometime. I think we should go to lunch. It would be great if we did. Well Dan hope you study for that vocabulary test tomorrow.
marco that book does seem pretty interesting! i actually thought about reading that book but honestly it lokked too long! but maybe i will end up reading it! and andrew that book still sounds a little boring from what you have said the past two weeks but you never know it could get better. and albert you already finished that book? you are a really fast reader!
-Ethan Moore
I was going to rip on Mrs. Stallman for having horrible spelling errors but I think the class has already covered that. Albert your book sounds very interesting. I like books on philosophy and such. Gina, goosebumps? Really? We read that sort of material in what, 4th grade?
Phil Collins sucks
Corey your story seriously sounds interesting. When you say "art seems to be her forte" what kind of art do you mean? Is it art in general or something specific? Keep me updated!
Ash Gordon
Corey, this is the first Nicholas Sparks book that I have read, but I have seen The Notebook. Of course I loved the movie.
Marco, Cell seems really interesting and the way you described it makes me want to read it.
Meghann and Katie, I finished breaking dawn in less than 48 hours. You guys are in for a treat. It is a great book.
-Jenica
Ethan your book sounds very interesting! Keep all of us updated on what the new game was like, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know. Steve your book seems like a very likable book to read. Is the coach really a crazy psycho?
.lauren
Tyler- your book sounds really sad at the end! Do you think I would like it? and Gina, are you really still reading Goosebumps? haha. I love you anyways. Corey, your book sounds really interesting, let me know if you like it. I always like to read books with twists in them like changes in time periods. They never get boring..
Ryan that book sounds terrible! why did you pick that? how can you keep reading that? Did you find that on mrs stallmans shelf?Marco are you a fan of horror stories? If so i would recomend reading more Steven king he is a very good horror writer.
Veronica, I saw the movie The Other Boylen Girl and i loved it! You should see it sometime if you are enjoying the book. I think it is crazy how times are so much different than they used to be. So many things have changed in today's world compared to the old days. I think i would really enjoy reading the book, because i really liked the movie.
okay, so everyone is into these vampire books...like twilight and the series. I dont really understand whats so special about these books...like there about vampires whats so special about that? can someone who has read one of these please explain what is the big deal?! katie or meg?...
Jeez...Mrs. Stallman would you believe someone hacked my google account and wrote that horrible comment. Jeez...well i was kiddin in class about Phil Collins, actually he is probably the best musician ever...phil collins is so good...phil collins is a Demi-god...phil collins' voice probably cures cancer and aids...is Phil collins a messiah? Jeez i love phil collins. And no, if i wrote that comment i totally wouldn't want a zero.
Steve this Ironman...is it related to the comic book super hero at all? Probably not tho ehh? Just a story bout a guy who thinks hes an Ironman or something. I'd like to hear more about it.
Marco buddy...the cell still sounds really good. I really like all of stephen kings material, its good stuff. So keep reading it so i dont have to.
