Im reading Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Myer still and Im not looking forward to ending the book cause there aren't anymore to read. I would rate this book a 5 because it is so good. Right now Im at the point where the Cullens are trying to form an aegis around Bella and Edward's daughter Renesesmee because she is half mortal and she knows too much about the vampires and must be killed.
Today i read about the trial of michael jackson. In it he went to bed with 12 yr old boys and was called a pedifile. To obfuscate the trial, michael showed up 20 minutes late which made the judge mad. If i were to rate this id give it a 3 becaus e it was pretty interesting. This story just shows that even when your at the top you can hit rock bottom fast.
I am reading Plague?(idk the title). This book is very interesting so far and i would rate it at a 4. The book caught my attention from the beginning. The main character, Donovan, is oblivious to the fact that he is dreaming when he feels his plane crashing. The second chapter starts with Donovan at a FBI hired shrink who is evaluating his mental state.
I read Montanna Sky. It was a very interesting first chapter. There is a funeral, and it is about october. The man being burried is a rancher. The rancher had three wives with a daughter each wife. The rancher was a hard working man. The narrator describes him as a unliked individual. The rancher had his funeral planned out. He had a marble grave stone, and shiny coffin. One of the ranchers daughters stayed in montanna. The others moved with there mothers. THe daughter that satyed grew to love her father. When the chapter ends THe daughter didnt want to talk with the others. I can tell this going to be a great romance novel. Who likes romance?
Today i started reading the first book in the The Left Behind Series. I only got to finish chapter one, so I'm not sure how it is going to go. I'm sad to have to apprise you, but I am going to have to rate this book at a 2 right now. I think when I get later on in the book that I will be able to rate it a little better.
Hello my second block English class! Today in the reading workshop I started a book called Dirty Lies (I think thats the name?) I only got to page four, but it just started to get good. So far it's about a boy who is considered a freak at school, he tries to hide all of the secrets that he knows. I haven't gotten too far so to me it seems like he has a lot of bad memories of the past. So all and all I would give this book a 3.
Today in 15 minutes of hell, i mean reading**. I read OF MICE AND MEN. I've read it once before...last thurday bout a year ago. I thought it was one of the greatest books ever written. It takes place in California during the great depression. It follows two migrant workers, George and Lennie, Lennie Small is a large built, powerful man but is semi-retarted. George Milton is the smarter of the two and looks after Lennie. They both share the dream of owning their own ranch some day. The story has a tragic ending which is worth a readin or two.
Today in class i read a book from the series Goosebumps, which was called The Graveyard Ghost or something...? haha i left my book in my locker. But so far from what i read it is already a scary book. It starts out as a dream with a boy and his sister exploring a graveyard in the fag at night. While they were running around hands came up from the ground and grabed on to their ankles as a melee, and would not let them go. The book definitley gave me chills! Can't wait to read more!...
Today i started reading the book Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald. I read the first chapter today in class and so far i think i would rate it as a 3. The main character Tamila Soroush was indigenous to Iran but leaves there to start a better life for herself in America. She was living in Iran and following all the rules that women are held to there but was depressed. Her parents saw she was upset and bought he a ticket to America. She only has 15 weeks there to find a husband so she can start a new life in America.
Today I read Where the Red Fern Grows... again. Since the dude let the dog out of his home for it to go home, he has since recalled memories of his young childhood when he was bite by puppy love. Not the sort of love where he has a crush on the cute girl next door. No no no! It's the kind of love where he falls for a furry animal with four legs and paws. But he dosent want just any dog, he wants hunting hounds and not just one, but two. But his parents wont buy them for him because they are poor.
I was reading Streams of Silver, book two in the Icewind Dale Trilogy. So far, the book is about a groups journey from their indigenous lands and their search for adventure beyond the horizon. The book is very well written so I give it a 5. So far the book has show itself to be of the highest quality and looks like it will remain that way.
Today I read the book New Moon by Stephanie Myer. I would have to rate this book a 5. Though I was ooncerned about how much I would like the "Twlight" books, I learned that I love them. They're so addicting. The book just started getting good but I hear that Edward falls out and we start to learn more about Jacob who I'm not the biggest fan of yet. He is an indigenous boy who lives on a reservation with his family. I'm excited to learn about him, maybe I'll even grow to like him better. Who knows?
Today i started reading peaches by Jodi Lynn Anderson. I have only read a small amount of the book thus far but so far it seems promising, the prequel or the first three paragraphs are what interested me in the book. It was strange how 3 miniscule para graphs can draw someone into a story.. from the few pages i've read i believe this will be a story in which Murphy ( the main character ) will find her self and over come obsticles in life while making and breaking friendships.. i think i would rate it a 3 so far but that may increase as i read on.
Today I read the book the Things They Carried. So far it was about a man named Lieutenant Jim Cross who is in Vietnam. Lieutenant Cross feels like his job is to be an aegis for his men. He talks a lot about all the men in his unit that are under him and there jobs. Also he goes into great detail about the things that he carries and the things that his men carry. he talks about things that aren't essential which the call humps. One guy has dope another a hatchet and some have letters. I would give this book a 9 out of 10 so far. I find the book to be good so far and hope that i can read it next Wednesday.
in class today I read the book See You Later. i didnt get to read that much but judging by the cover it is going to be a scary book. so far it is about a boy who just graduated and he made a computer game. he went to the store to buy a new game and he met a girl who worked there. he told the girl that he made the game and she should play it. he went back several times looking for the girl but she wasnt there. then he finaly saw her again and they talked about his game.

Uh, Mrs. Stallman, what exactly is it with you and scales of 1-5? Is this some sort of education fetish?
Anyway, I'm still working on The Life of Pi, and it is still good. At this point, the boat taking his family, their possessions, and all of the animals from their zoo to Canada from Pondicherry, India sinks. I just read through the instances in the fifth chapter when, in graphic detail, the deracination of the other zoo animals on Pi's lifeboat by Richard Parker, a refugee Bengal tiger.
Yeah. A tiger eats three animals on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. When you read it, it doesn't seem as implausible as it sounds out loud.
today i read the book Cell by Stephen King. I would rate this book a 4. I only have read about 10 pages and it has me hooked and cant put it down. it sounds like its going to be a horror book. The reason i say that is about this one part i read. This part started with Clayton the main character in the park watching his surroundings. Then he heres a loud bark from a dog and this guy in a suit was holding it like he was his owner and was helping it. The next thing you know the guy was in a melee with this dog. Then Clayton described the guy biting the dogs ear. Thats how far i got today in reading workshop.
So today i cracked open Harry Potter the very first one. Im gonna give this one a flat 1. For real Harry Potter did not engage me to participate in engaged reading. I cannot connect with the guy because he's a feeb. J.K Rowling has a broad imigination and i'd like to have dinner with her and reward her for the detailed book. She likes to emphasize friendship in this book. It's probably due to the fact she has none and would like to have a world where she can pretend.
I'm reading Salem Falls and today,s reading taught me that the main character is a former teacher and presently a registered sex offender. He found a small town to start his new life after getting out of jail. His boss is also a main character and she seems to be a little "out there" and she has a bibulous father who was arrested. So far, I rate it a 3 out of 5.

Today i continued reading The Things They Carried. I am really enjoying this book. I would rate it a 4 on a scale from one to five. It's about Lieutenant Jimmy Cross who is fighting in a war to show aegis for his country. The part that i just read described how a soldier named Lavender was killed. He was shot during a mission to destroy tunnel complexes but all Cross could think about was the love of his life, Martha. I can't wait to read more!
Matt, that book is amazing! I enjoyed it so much when we read it in 7th grade with Mrs. Cizmar. I love reading! I can wait til I get another chance to pick up a book. The aegis those dogs show towards each other is just heartwarming.
Marco i feel that the book you read was interesting. Gina just to say i hate halloween books so ya. There isnt even a miniscule of a chance that i would read this. Bill i like the way you called it the "15 minutes of hell". HAHAHAHAHA great. so i geuss id give this comment a 2. Ill catch you on the flipside.
Hey Katie, I have been hearing A LOT about the twilight series and have been kind of interested in reading it. So when you are finished could you please apprise me on whether it is worth reading!I was wondering is that the kind of book you usually like, because i am not sure if i would be that into the book. I usually don't read that kind of book. Becca, what is the left behind series about?
Tyler I couldn't agree any more with you on Harry Potter and Rowlings. Those books are so full of themselves, i'd rather read the auto-biography of an avid dungeons and dragons player, or shoot myself in the foot with a nail gun. I mean I really can't believe thousands of trees each year are deracinated and forged into these rubbish wizard books.
Gina...Goosebumbs really? The Graveyard Ghost really? Goosebumb books are for kids who have no imagination and must substitute a cheesy short story as their own. Goosebumb books are like stray cats...there are way too many of them and they should all be burned.
Now its time to be fair to J.K. Rowling. At the time that she wrote that book she was homeless and destitute, and she recovered to a life style that many would love to have. She created a microcosm and put her readers in it and that is quite an achievement.
I think that the book Corey is reading sounds very addicting. I will keep it in mind the next time I'm looking for a good book. Also, what is with this class and reading such dark, depressing and lachrymose books? I mean, you've got Halloween, war, sex offenders, and whatever Albert is reading. It"s crazy!
Veronica Conway
andrew i would like to aprise you that last week your book sounded very interesting when you were talking about the plane crash and everything else that happened. after reading this weeks blog, it is a versimilitude that i will not read that book. Now it just sounds boring. but you let me know if it gets better if or when you continue reading that story.

Bill 15 minuets of hell good way to put. Albert the Tiger eating the three animals makes me think that there was a melee on the life boat. Was there one Al? Marco a Stephen King book would be a horror book no doubt that’s what he rights man. Well said about Matt’s book Andrew I feel the same way. So far I have read that book twice. It a tear jerker in my opinion. It’s the reason that I got my dog. Matt great choice of a book, you always have the best book choices.
Bill I agree with you 100% on the Harry Potter subject. After I read the first book I have never been more inclined to cut my wrists. There's a miniscule of a chance I would ever read one again and that was if someone held a gun to my head in which case they would probably have to shoot me because I'm not reading that stuff again. I'll give props to Rowling for writing it while homeless but if I ever met her I would melee her for coming up with such crap. Oh and I have to give my book a 5.
Woah megan that books sounds crazy. i think if i read it it would obfuscate my mind. But vampires are interesting! you will have to tell me more about this book. maybe we should go out for lunch or sumthing. hook up with me at school and get my number. wow cory! Let me tell you that i love indigenous stories. I love to hear about a country and the struggles there. I find it interesting to read about the lives of people in other countries. I loved the Kite Runner when we read it. Cory you have such a good tast in books. Maybe we should go out for dinner sometime. Wow we should all have a dinner sometime. Let me tell you what i love dinner. Fish is probably my favorite dish. Sara remember when you went to New york and went fishing. That made for a great story. Didnt you cath perch? or was it walleye? Or perhaps salmon? I think it was orange ruffy! wow sara you have a lovely tatse in fish. You should read my planet earth book its got alot about fish in it!!
Leo the book sucks. It's miniscule compared to Top Gun. I'm proud of her accomplishment. Bill thanks for agreeing, the book is pitiful. Mmmmm Benoit Where the red Fern grows? Common classic. I love your choice. I to remember reading that in Cizmar's. In fact i had that class with Albert and Andrew.
I'll go ahead and agree with Officer here. I'm not a fan of harry Potter, though i suppose I can recognize the literary merit of her novels. I mean, how many other authors have created such a cult following of young, impressionable, readers with a silly idea?
Oh wait.
Tolkien? T.H. White?
Nah, they are grandpas anyway.
As for this HUGE surge of vampire-y books...cool? I wasn't aware they had gotten so popular these days. usually when i talked about anything supernatural people thought I was bizarre. I think its interesting that there is such a revamping of Gothic literature, and that teens are digging it. I guess I'll have to try and expand my purview and broaden my horizons and give some of these books a try when I'm finished with TLOP, and Anna Karrennina by Leo Tolstoy, both of which, I may add, I give a five out of five.
Gina, i usually like scary books but the last time i read a Goosebumps book was in like 6th grade. I think its weird how a boy and his sister are in a graveyard at night. Why were they there? I guess they were oblivious that graveyards are the scariest at night! Matt! I loved Where the Red Fern Grows! We read it in 7th grade and i really enjoyed it! I don't really remember that much about it i just remember that i liked reading it! K bye! :)
Gina- Goosebumps wow, I remember those.
Corey-Veil of Roses sounds like a very interesting book maybe when I'm done with the Twlight series I'll give it a shot. And no, normally vampire books arn't really my thing. I honestly thought I was going to hate the books but it turned out I didn't. The way they're written pulls you into the microcosm that is portrayed. I highly suggest you read them.
Bill i love Goosebumps! They are very short and easy! your just jealous! Also Ty...the Harry Potter books are really good! So are the movies! I've seen all of them, but i have not read all of the books!...darn! Maybe some day when i dont have a life i will be sure to sit down and read everyone!:)
I heard a lot of great things about the Harry Potter books. I have not read any of the books. I want to, but some of you guys are obfuscating my desire to actually read them. I mean are they really that bad?
-Jenica
Giiiina, omg Goosebumps! best books ever! I use to love those books! I had like all of them! Those books did used to be really scary because of they had a lot of verisimilitude with the author's good descriptions. And I've also heard a lot about the Twlight series, and I'm really interested in reading one. There seems to be a lot of aegis behind them so they must be pretty good!
Hello katie, I read your comment on your book "New Moon". I would prefer a book that I can relate myself too. Its rather uncommon to find a book that I actually enjoy. I have tried many books that my friends have recommended and have found them boring. There was a book that told of a melee for power. It gave off a sense of atonement afterwords, like a moral. Those books are the ones that usually get me hooked.
does this work?
Hahahahahahah, Ryan i never ate any of the fish we caught. We gave it all to Mrs. Wils. Remember? But that was after we went shopping everywhere with her. I hate fish, i think it's nasty.
